St. Lukes Court, Marlborough
|
St. Lukes Court, overlooking the common and the Marlborough Downs, is an extremely impressive and successful Courtyard, sympathetically combining the best of the new and the old. The conversion of the former stone Workhouse, built in 1837 contains 5 two bedroom houses, 5 two bedroom apartments - and a maisonette, offering a vantage point overseeing the whole Courtyard, whilst 6 new two bedroom cottages have been added, which match the architecture of the Workhouse. Finally 5 new houses four of them large Wing Houses with an integral garage in the style of the former Victorian Hospital since demolished - complete the varied, spacious and interesting array of properties that are available.

Following the cruciform of the Workhouse, there are four individual gardens, each with a different theme. Once they were the exercise yards which separated the men from the women, and the boys from the girls none of whom were ever allowed to meet or socialize thankfully very different from to-day!
As well as offering the full Courtyard Manager service St. Lukes has its own mini bus service, alarm system, comfortable guest suite and laundry. Each property has its own garage.
